According to  research, perinatal mental health problems can affect as many as 1 in 10 new fathers, many of whom suffer in silence. Some of these fathers may be silently struggling with post-natal depression.

As part of the International Men’s Health Week Campaign 2024, a recent article by PhD student Mary Maguire and Professor Sinéad McGilloway, highlights the issue of postnatal depression in fathers  and discusses the  challenges, support gaps and the importance of early recognition.
