Mary Cronin and Professor Sinead McGilloway, CMHCR members, recently published a paper in Frontline Magazine, The Voice of Intellectual Disability.

The paper discusses the importance of identifying as a carer and incorporates the first findings of the CHERISH project as well as a personal narrative from Mary Cronin regarding her own experiences of identifying as a carer.

The article looks at the early identification of carers in health and social care services in Ireland and discusses early findings regarding how they are supported (or not) in those services. The complexities regarding self-identifying as a carer and the possible consequences of this are outlined.
