Mary Cronin, PhD scholar in the CMHCR, recently presented the first findings of the CHERISH (Community Health-basEd appRoach to Improving carerS Health and wellbeing) research project at the Care Alliance conference “Towards a Refreshed National Carers Strategy – from Research to Policy” (14th November).

Mary’s presentation entitled “Promoting a ‘Think Carer’ approach in health and social care services – first steps” highlighted key issues that carers are encountering in health and social care services in Ireland.  Future work will explore these in more detail and try to find ways to address them.
